Ultrafast hybrid nanocomposite scintillators: A review

چکیده

In recent years, demand for scintillation detectors with high time resolution (better than 100 ps) has emerged in high-energy physics and medical imaging applications. particular, of flight positron emission tomography (TOF-PET) can greatly benefit from increasing scintillators, which leads to the increase signal-to-noise ratio, decrease patient dose, achievement superior spatial PET images. Currently, extensive research various types materials is carried out achieve best resolution. this review, progress approaches summarized compounds temporal characteristics are first reviewed. The review presents physical processes causing fast luminescence inorganic organic materials. Special attention paid nanocomposites belong a new perspective class scintillating materials, consisting plastic matrix, nanocrystalline fillers, or activators shifters. main features functions all parts existing prospective nanocomposite scintillators also discussed.
